In Luke 4, there’s much to learn about fighting temptation with Scripture and trusting rather than manipulating God. But all of that is only possible if we internalize the main point. Our obedience is only possible because of Jesus’ obedience. Our power to resist the devil is only possible if we rely on his power. Our righteousness is only possible through his. Jesus is the obedient son who passed the test where all others failed.
